SCHOOL ATTENDANCE

Class

Week ending:

5 .1.18

Please note any children arriving in school after 9.15 a.m. will be marked in the

register as an ‘unauthorised absence’.

This may then trigger a meeting with the school’s Educational Social Worker (ESW)

to discuss punctuality.

LS003422We won’t be awarding the trophy to a class in Key Stage 1 this week as their best percentage was only just above our target-looking for a great improvements this week!

A huge well done to 3P for managing perfect attendance last week!

As you can see, attendance was quite low across the school last week due mostly to some families who travelled abroad over the winter break and had not returned in time for the new term to start. Hopefully numbers should normalise this week and we should see a marked improvement in our percentages.

SAFEGUARDING ALERT

We have received the following alert today from the Safeguarding Team at Barnet:

The Police have just informed us of an incident that took place just before the Christmas break, and have asked us to circulate the following message to all schools:

There has been a recent incident where a man in an unmarked blue minibus has attempted to persuade a child to get into the vehicle. The incident took place on Church Hill Road. The man is thought to be of Asian origin with very short or shaved hair.

Please remind your child/ren not to speak to strangers and never to go with someone they don't know.

If you become aware of any further incidents, please contact the police immediately.

FREE SCHOOL MEALS APPLICATIONS

We are updating our Free School Meals register and need to have current information for any family eligible for free meals (even if your child/ren have packed lunch or receive a free meal under the Government’s Universal Free Meals for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 pupils).

Please ask the office to send you an application form, regardless of whether you have completed one in the past, if you are eligible.  If you are unsure, please request the form and we will check for you.

SNACKS AT BREAKTIME

May I remind parents of children in Key Stage 2 that the only snacks allowed at playtime are fruit or vegetables. We have never allowed cereal bars but these seem to have crept in, without me noticing, over a period of time. Please feel free to send in an apple, some grapes, a banana, some carrot sticks, cucumber etc. I will remind the children of the things they are allowed to bring in assembly on Friday. All other snacks will be sent home with children at the end of the day.

PLEASE ALSO REMEMBER WE ARE A NUT-FREE SCHOOL AND CHILDREN SHOULD NOT BRING NUTS OR PRODUCTS CONTAINING NUTS IN PACKED LUNCHES. WE HAVE SEVERAL CHILDREN WITH SEVERE NUT ALLERGIES IN SCHOOL.
