SCHOOL ATTENDANCE Class |
Week ending: 3.3.17 |
Please note any children arriving in school after 9.15 a.m. will
be marked in the register as an ‘unauthorised
absence’. This may then trigger a meeting with the school’s Educational
Social Worker (ESW) to discuss punctuality. Well done
to 2S again for the best attendance in Key Stage 1 and well done to
6LD again for the
highest attendance in Key Stage 2 last week! |

SITE SECURITY IN
THE MORNINGS While
we are still using the Knoll Drive main entrance for soft start, please make
sure that children are dropped at the front door and come into school
independently. Parents do not need to accompany children to the classrooms,
the children are quite capable of getting themselves there! Thank you for
your help. |
OFFICE EMAIL (office@monkfrithschool.co.uk) or zhart3.302@lgflmail.org From
now on, please use either of the emails at the top of the newsletter to
report absences or send notes to the office. Thank you. |
GOODBYE TO SUE MORLEY After many years
connected to Monkfrith as a parent, governor, Hi-Five team trainer and most
recently an employee Sue has decided to move on to pastures new. We thank her
for her service over the years and will miss her very much. We wish her the
very best of luck in her new ventures. |
FRIDAY FOOTBALL
CLUBS If
you are paying for Friday After School football, I’m sure that you would want
your child to have most of their time learning football skills. However at
least 15-20 minutes of every session is taken up with children getting
changed into football kit and then eating a three course snack! It would be
much better for your child to have their snack after football when you
collect them. If you feel they really need to have a snack, then please send
in 1 small item. Also, children struggle to put a whole football kit on, so
please just send in shorts, shirt and boots-they can wear school socks-after
all it isn’t the Premier League! To ensure the safety of all children and for
insurance purposes parents are not allowed into the hall to watch the
sessions and should wait outside school when collecting children to keep the
Reception area free for parents collecting children from the After School
Club. Thanks for your cooperation. |
DANCE FESTIVAL Our
dance club members will be taking part in the Barnet Dance Festival on Friday
with many other Barnet schools. They are really looking forward to the
experience. Their dance is a lively rendition of ‘Footloose’ and I know they
will be fantastic. |
AFTER SCHOOL CLUB PICK UP Please note: Parents must not enter classrooms or cloakroom
areas after picking up children from After School Club. If you need to access
these areas to collect something your child has forgotten, please speak to
Mrs Costas and she will help you. |
SPRING ART COMPETITION- closing date
Monday 27th March The challenge
this year is to create a 3D masterpiece with a Spring theme. It could be made
from clay, plasticine, card, junk, Lego etc- the choice is endless! Please make sure all
creations have a label somewhere with your child’s name and class. All
entries need to be brought into school by Monday 27th March and
judging will take place on Wednesday 29th March. Pupil Council
representatives will choose 3 winners from each class. Prizes will be given
out in our Friday assembly that week. |
A MESSAGE FOR RECEPTION/YEAR 1 PARENTS Unfortunately
because of the number of children in our Reception classes we are no longer
able to put party invitations into book bags. Please pass them onto parents
yourself or if you work please ask another parent to do the honours for you.
Many thanks. |
MISS
PORZI’S END OF TERM WOODWIND AND RECORDER CONCERTS Recorder: Tuesday 21st March at 2.30 p.m. Woodwind: Friday 24th March at 9.00 a.m. |
PARKING ON GRASS
VERGES Now
there are no contractors parking on Knoll Drive, this should make parking
much easier. Please note that our grass verges have really suffered over the
last few weeks where cars/vans have driven over them or parked on them.
Please do not park on any grass verges in the roads surrounding school. If
you are parking where there is not enough room for a car to pass unless you park on the verge-the solution is to park somewhere else! |
ALTERNATIVE
BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS-No sweets/cakes please, instead send in a book to be a
lasting reminder of your child’s birthday Thank
you to all the parents who have done this so far, we have received some
lovely books for classrooms as a lasting reminder of a child’s birthday. |
