SCHOOL ATTENDANCE Class |
Week ending: 27.1.17 |
Please note any children arriving in school after 9.15 a.m. will
be marked in the register as an ‘unauthorised
absence’. This may then trigger a meeting with the school’s Educational
Social Worker (ESW) to discuss punctuality. Well done
to 2S for the best attendance in Key Stage 1 and well done to 6LD for the
highest attendance in Key Stage 2 last week! |

PARKING PROBLEMS IN
BROOKSIDE SOUTH I
have had a lot of complaints this week from our neighbours in Brookside South
near the new school entrance about inconsiderate parking. Parents have been
parking across their driveways and double parking preventing access for them.
I assume this is at the end of the school day as the mornings seem to work
quite well. I have been sent photos of some of the cars and it is easy to see
the culprits! Please park on the Monkfrith side of
the street if possible, do not park across driveways or dropped kerbs, as you
are parking illegally. The residents have asked the enforcement officers to
visit at some point and they will be giving fines if you are parking
illegally. Our neighbours have the right to ask you to move if you are
blocking their drive, please be polite and just do that. We encourage our
children to be polite and helpful in school, please don’t tarnish our
school’s reputation by being rude or inconsiderate outside our school. |
BE SAFE, BE SEEN Make
sure your child is seen easily in the dark mornings and evenings. We
are selling fluorescent armbands (to go on coat sleeves) for Reception and
Key Stage 1 children (£2 each) and fluorescent reflectors to attach to bags
or zippers for Key Stage 2 classes (£1.50). If
you would like to purchase an armband (KS1) or a reflector (KS2), please send
the money into school with your child in a named envelope labelled ‘armband’
or ‘reflector’(please specify either football,
dinosaur or owl). We
have a limited number for sale so ‘first come first served!’ |
HEADLICE REMINDER We
are currently seeing a few cases of head lice mostly in Year 1 at the moment.
Please make sure that you let us know if your child has head lice so that we
can warn other parents to check their child’s hair. After treating your
child’s hair make sure you continue to check every few days for any eggs that
may still have hatched. A good way of keeping them at bay is to put plenty of
conditioner on your child’s hair at bath time and comb through with a very
fine tooth comb. |
THE
MONKFRITH SPRING RAFFLE EXTRAVAGANZA |
FUNDRAISING FOR
THE ROYAL BROMPTON HOSPITAL Thank
you for all your generous donations at the cake sale last week, it was
amazing! Thank you also to the Y5 children and parents who helped with the
sale at the end of the day. I’ll let you know how much we raised when Alex
has counted the donations. |
48 HOUR RULE RE
SICKNESS AND DIARRHOEA We are
experiencing a lot of cases of the winter vomiting bug at the moment
especially in Key Stage 1. Please make sure that children stay off school for
48 hours counted from the last bout of sickness or diarrhoea. Thank you for
your help. |
