Class

Week ending:

Please note any children arriving in school after 9.15 a.m. will be marked in the register as an ‘unauthorised absence’. This may then trigger a meeting with the school’s Educational Social Worker (ESW) to discuss punctuality.

HEADLICE ALERT

We are seeing lots of cases of headlice across the school at the moment-they obviously love the warm weather! Please check your child’s/children’s hair every week and treat when necessary. It does seem to help if hair is tied back or plaited for school-make it difficult for the visitors! Remember, if you find any eggs, try to comb them out as well as treating them, and check every 3 days, in case more have hatched. Thanks for your support.

NORTH LONDON MUSIC FESTIVAL            MAY 2017

Congratulations and well done to the 17 recorder players who took part in the Recorder Class and achieved First Place. The age of the players ranged from 6 to 11 years old, and each student received a certificate, and adjudication sheet. A smart trophy now sits in Mrs Adak’s room.

On the day the group performed three pieces, the final piece “How De Do D” featured the kazoo and was played by memory.

The students behaved beautifully and were a credit to the school.

A huge thank you to the parents for all your support, and to the parents who helped out with transport to Hampstead Garden Suburb; it was much appreciated.  Rita Porzi

STAFF CHANGES FOR SEPTEMBER

Miss Candler and Mrs Kearns are moving on to pastures new at the end of this term. Miss Candler is taking on a new post in Barnet and Mrs Kearns is moving North. We shall miss them both very much and thank them for being a great part of our team. We are pleased to welcome two teachers, Miss Melanie Lenihan and Mrs Bina Kotwani to the team from September. Mr Moore, one of our teaching assistants, is also moving on in September and we wish him the very best as he embarks on his training to be a teacher next year. We will also be welcoming Mr Powell as a trainee teacher and look forward to training him over the year.

PARENT FORUM-Tuesday 11th July 9.00-9.30 a.m. Dining Room

We will be holding a Parent Forum next week followed by a guided tour of the new parts of our building. Y6 students will be the guides and are very excited about showing off our lovely new spaces.  Parent forum is your opportunity to come along and share your ideas or ask any questions you may have about school life. Any questions you may have about your child specifically, should be dealt with by speaking to your child’s class teacher in the first instance.

We will be inviting our neighbours to have a guided tour as well, whilst we are holding our forum meeting.

SITE SECURITY UPDATE

During the summer break, we will be having some work done to enhance the security at the main entrance gate in Knoll Drive. From September the green front gates will be closed and access will be by key pad, controlled by the office staff. We are also replacing the external front door with one that opens and closes automatically.

We are consulting with the Local Authority and the police about any other security measures that might need to be put into place.

NSPCC DANCE-A-THON

Please return sponsor forms with donations by today. Many thanks for your support.

BOOKING ‘AS AND WHEN’ AFTER SCHOOL CLUB PLACES

Please remember that if you want to book an ‘as and when’ After School Club place, you must book before 1.00 p.m. on the day you require the slot. After School Club is very busy now and we need to ensure we have the correct level of staffing for the number of children. If you ring after 1.00 p.m., there may not be a place available.

AFTER SCHOOL CLUB PRICE RISE FROM SEPTEMBER 2017

The price of After School Club will rise to £8.00 per session (£7.00 for siblings) from the start of the new term in September. Breakfast Club price per session will remain the same.
