CLIMBING FRAMES/ PLAY AREAS

PLEASE NOTE: Children are not allowed on any of our play structures at the beginning or end of the day for health and safety reasons. Please keep pre-school children with you and supervised at all times when collecting your child from school.

Thank you for keeping everyone safe.

Y6LD TRIP TO THE ISLE OF WIGHT

Y6LD are now in the Isle of Wight and having a great time at Robin Hill Country Park today. Hopefully the weather will be kind to them and they will have a fantastic week together. I am very lucky to be joining them this year so you won’t see me on the gate this week. Miss Deasey is in charge in my absence and will do a brilliant job as always!

PARENT GOVERNOR ELECTIONS

Thank you for your patience with the election process. The results are as follows:

Aarti Bhardwa: 37

Jonathan Bruck: 76

Carolyn Hudson: 109

Louisa Tsioupra Davis: 79

Seyda Tuzanalper: 55

Carolyn and Louisa are duly elected onto the Monkfrith Governing Body and we look forward to working with them.

SUN HATS

Now that the weather is getting warmer, please ensure that all children have a sunhat in school.   Please make sure the hat is named as we cannot keep track of over 300 hats!

PARKING

We have once again had complaints from local residents that parents are still parking across driveways, blocking entry and exit routes.  Residents also have children to collect from other schools and inconsiderate parking by our parents is causing problems.  Please take time to park considerately.

MONKFRITH BOYS FOOTBALL TEAM

Last Friday after school, our football team competed in the league final against Our Lady of Lourdes. We started positively and had most of the possession. The first half ended 1-1 and we felt confident to score again. Unfortunately, Our Lady of Lourdes managed to sneak in a goal with 10 minutes left. Despite the boys’ effort, skills, determination and numerous shots on goal, the score ended 2-1. The boys made us proud and were great sports, despite their loss.

All our supporters commented on how well they played together and that they didn’t deserve to lose. They mentioned how much they have improved over the year. I feel so proud to be their coach and see them grow as a team from strength to strength. We look forward to hearing more about their sporting career as they move on to secondary school.

MONKFRITH GIRLS FOOTBALL TEAM
It has been a fabulous first term for our Monkfrith Girls Football Team. In training, the squad have been working extremely hard on their own individual and the team development. This is clearly evident to see in the results of the matches they have played so far, during their very short time together:

Tudor 2-3 Monkfrith

Monkfrith 2-1 Church Hill

Hollickwood 0-8 Monkfrith

Monkfrith 7-0 Summerside

Squad: Liana (captain), Elisia (vice-captain), Leah, Lottie, Renee, Andriana, Chelsea, Susan, Yasmina, Tanya.

The overall successes of the individuals in this team so far can be measured in so many more ways beyond the match results. Their great sportsmanship, willingness to learn & improve and humble approach to competition makes me feel very proud & lucky to be able to work with such positive bunch of young people. Well done girls! We are all very proud of you!!!
