FOOTBALL UPDATE

Monkfrith Football team played in the Dick Bailey Cup semi final last Thursday. The players played their socks off against a very strong team, St Catherine’s. Despite our efforts, including a goal line clearance and a shot that hit the wrong side of the goal post, they sadly lost 1-0. They all gave everything they could and we are so proud. St Catherine’s coach said after the match “It was a tough match. You are the strongest team we have played against this year.” I know the boys were gutted but I hope they feel proud of themselves. We look forward positively to our League Final that will take place on Friday 19th May, 4pm kick off. Good luck boys.

FOMS NEWS

Dear All,
The FOMS committee are well underway with organising the Summer Fair for Saturday 17th June. We have been lucky to get sponsorship for the fair from a local Estate Agent, so please look out this week for letters in book bags asking for people who are happy to have boards at the front of their homes. FOMS gets money for each board that is put up, so please return the form with your address if at all possible.

The fair relies on parents and friends volunteering to help run stalls, serve food, prepare games etc etc. We will be busy getting volunteers for different things over the coming weeks so please give some time if you can! One way in which we prepare for the fair is to hold two coffee mornings in school to get things ready. This year, they will be on Friday the 9th and 16th of June after drop-off. Please save the date and come along!

Thanks and best wishes,
The FOMS committee
