TEMPERATURES SOAR!

Please make sure children have a hat in school, sun cream on before they leave home and a water bottle. Children without hats will not be able to go out to play. We will restrict the time children are outside at lunchtime and use the shaded area down the dip for playtimes.

BARNET SPORTS FESTIVAL AT ALLIANZ PARK TOMORROW

If your child is taking part in the sports event tomorrow (selected children from Y3, 4, 5 and 6), please make sure that they have a hat, suncream and plenty of water with them. It will be very hot tomorrow.

MUSIC FESTIVAL-Thursday 22nd June

Key Stage 2 choir will be taking part in the Barnet Music Festival at the Arts Depot on Thursday this week. We will have lunch in school as normal and children need to bring a packed tea and something to keep them amused between rehearsals and the show. The performance starts at 7.00 p.m.

Please wash and return t-shirts to me after the event, thank you.

NSPCC DANCE-A-THON

An NSPCC representative came into school before the half-term break to talk to the children about keeping themselves safe. As a follow up to the visits, all classes will be taking part in a Dance-a-thon during our sports/science week to raise funds for the NSPCC. Sponsor forms will be coming home with your child today, so that you can support your child in raising funds for the NSPCC. Please return envelopes with sponsor money to school by Monday 3rd July. Thank you for your support.

BOOKING ‘AS AND WHEN’ AFTER SCHOOL CLUB PLACES

Please remember that if you want to book an ‘as and when’ After School Club place, you must book before 1.00 p.m. on the day you require the slot. After School Club is very busy now and we need to ensure we have the correct level of staffing for the number of children. If you ring after 1.00 p.m., there may not be a place available.

AFTER SCHOOL CLUB PRICE RISE FROM SEPTEMBER 2017

The price of After School Club will rise to £8.00 per session (£7.00 for siblings) from the start of the new term in September. Breakfast Club price per session will remain the same.

SCOTT FOLAN - SINGER-SONGWRITER

Year 4 were lucky enough to be treated to a short performance from Mrs Folan's son, Scott, who came to help with their music lesson while I was in the Isle of Wight before half-term. They loved it!  So, you might like to know that Scott is playing at East Barnet School on Friday at their PTA event - Summer Barbeque - starts at 7:30pm. £5 entry for adults including a drink. If you have other children at East Barnet it would be lovely to support him. There will be others music acts too and activities and fun for everyone

CLIMBING FRAMES/ PLAY AREAS

PLEASE NOTE: Children are not allowed on any of our play structures at the beginning or end of the day for health and safety reasons. Please keep pre-school children with you and supervised at all times when collecting your child from school.

Thank you for keeping everyone safe.

DINNER MONEY FOR THIS HALF-TERM

If you wish to pay for the half-term the cost will be £70.95(33 days@ £2.15 per day). If your child is in 6D, please pay £60.20. (minus 5 days for the Isle of Wight trip). If you wish to pay weekly, please make sure we receive your payment, in advance, every Monday morning. We like to finish the school year with no monies owning so expect to be chased if you are behind with payments! Thank you.

SUMMER FAIR

Dear All,

FOMS would like to say a big thank you to everyone who came along to the summer fair on Saturday. There was such a lovely sense of community, and it was great to see the children enjoying themselves so much. Thank you too for spending so generously - we will let you know how much we raised when we have the final figure.

We'd like to extend special thanks to the following people:

1. Thank you to everyone who donated items for the fair; gave up their time to prepare for the fair, run stalls, cook and serve the BBQ, set up and clear away; and baked lovely cakes and made food for the buffet. Thank you especially to school staff who really helped us in the morning and throughout the day, and who maintained control of the inflatables!!

2. Thank you to the following companies who donated raffle prizes: John Lewis, le Pain Quotidien, Paradise Park, Belmont Farm, Toni and Guys, Chaps, the Hampden Square Post Office, Shoe Zoo, Radhuni, Meraki, V Jewellers, Daniel Adams Hairdressing, Jungle Falls Adventure Golf, Top Notch Education and Rosalie Epstein Beauty Therapist. Thank you to Dinos and Sons for generously donating meat for the BBQ, and to Nick Pettit Design for creating such eye-catching posters for us. Thank you too to Southgate Fire Brigade for bringing along a fire engine.

3. Thank you to the Estate Agent, Waterfield Brooke for being so generous in sponsoring our fair and for bringing along a game in your Jaguar! We enjoyed seeing your advertising signs around the area.

See you at our next event and best wishes,
The FOMS committee
