Week ending:

Please note any children arriving in school after 9.15 a.m. will be marked in the register as an ‘unauthorised absence’. This may then trigger a meeting with the school’s Educational Social Worker (ESW) to discuss punctuality.

CHANGES TO PICK UP FOR KEY STAGE 1 AND RECEPTION FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS

Whilst the new Key Stage 1 and Reception play equipment is being fitted, Y1 and Y2 parents will not be able to wait on the Key Stage 1 playground at the end of the day. For this week (and maybe next week), please collect your children from the bottom playground as you did during the building work.

Reception parents will not be able to walk around from the Reception pick up area to the KS1 playground or bottom playground. You will need to walk out of the Woods gate, down Knoll Drive and up into the bottom playground to collect KS1 and KS2 children. I apologise for the inconvenience but we will have two brilliant new play areas very soon! I’ll let you know, if any thing changes, thanks for your patience.

FOMS UPDATE

Dear All,
Letters went out in book bags last week asking for volunteers to display Estate Agent boards to advertise our summer fair. Thanks to everyone who has already returned their form.  FOMS gets money for each board displayed so please return the form if you can! You can also email us your details if that is easier on f.o.m.s.@outlook.com (we need your name, your child's name, your address and a contact number).

With thanks and best wishes,
FOMS committee

A MESSAGE FROM MISS PIERIDES

Good luck to Monkfrith boys’ football team in their league final this week.

The match will take place on Friday 19th May at 4pm at Martin Primary school.

Feel free to come and support the boys.

Thank you

Elena Pierides

YEAR 5 NEED GOLD BRAID OR RIBBON

Does anyone have any gold braid or ribbon for Y5 to use in History week next half-term. We need 31 metres! Thanks, hopefully!

BE ACTIVE, ACT NOW!

Our Year 5 class is participating in a theatre workshop tomorrow. The Play in a Day workshop is entitled ‘Be Active, Act Now!’ and is designed to highlight road safety, sustainable travel and air quality messages. For our Year 5 pupils taking part in the workshop, it is also a fantastic opportunity to have fun, build confidence, improve public speaking and listening skills and to reinforce the importance of teamwork.

The workshop will last all day, with a short informal performance at 3.00 p.m. in the school hall. The performance will last around 15 minutes and Y5 parents are more than welcome to come along and watch. As the workshop is commissioned by Barnet Council, there is no cost to the school.

NEARLY NEW BOOK SALE

Thank you to all the families who donated their books in such pristine condition and to those who purchased 'new' reading material.  Thank you to the members of Year 5 who gave up their time to assist me setting up the 'pop up shop' and to our pupil councillors who were in charge of sales.  At this stage we appear to have raised £265.  Your help and support is much appreciated

Miss Donaghy
