SCHOOL ATTENDANCE

Class

Week ending: 9.9.16

Please note any children arriving in school after 9.15 a.m. will be marked in the register as an ‘unauthorised absence’. This may then trigger a meeting with the school’s Educational Social Worker (ESW) to discuss punctuality.

SCHOOL PACKED LUNCHES

Macintosh HD:Users:jeanetteadak:Desktop:IMG_0423.JPGI’m sorry that some parents feel the school packed lunch provided by Barnet Catering is not adequate. I thought I would include an example of what was offered on Friday for you to see: a sandwich (usual size on brown or white bread with chicken, tuna mayo or cheese), Fruit pot, salad pot, a slice of chocolate cracknel and a drink (water or juice). I think the lunch is perfectly fine and preferable to some of the sugar and salt packed lunches I have seen coming into school this week. Lots of parents have complained that children are hungry at the end of the day-they should be! They expend a lot of energy at lunchtime and in the afternoon and will not have eaten for several hours.

Please do not ring Zoe or Sue in the office if you have an issue about packed lunches, speak directly to Teresa Goodall, head of the catering service on 8359 5140.

PARENT INFORMATION MEETING- Wednesday 14th September 6.00 p.m.

Please note change to date.

We will be holding a Parent Information meeting on Wednesday 14th September.  You will be able to visit your child’s new classroom and meet the teacher at 6.00 p.m. This will be followed at 6.30 p.m. by a general information meeting (around 20-30 minutes) in the hall. This will be an opportunity for you to get to know all about expectations and procedures for the new school year. This is a meeting just for parents, please do not bring your child/children.

TEXTS/EMAILS RECEIVED

Please note that from now on, the office will not be replying to texts and emails received from parents asking for information that has already been provided by means of the weekly newsletter, trip letters or the school website.

YEAR 2 TRIP TO EPPING FOREST

I know some parents have commented that the cost for the trip to Epping Forest is quite expensive. I thought I would give you a breakdown of the cost per head so you can see what it includes.

The coach costs £9.17 per child and the bug-hunting workshop is £7.33 per child. We do try to use public transport for trips wherever possible to keep the costs down, but doing that for this trip would mean spending most of the day travelling! I’m sure the children will have a fantastic time and learn lots of new things about mini-beasts that will help them with their topic work back at school. Thanks for your support.

KEY STAGE 2 CHOIR-Thursdays 8.15 a.m.

It was lovely to see so many new faces at Key Stage 2 choir last week. We had a great time together. We still have room for a few more, so if your child is interested they should come along on Thursday.

BREAKFAST CLUB/AFTER SCHOOL CLUB
