DJ FOR YEAR 6 LEAVERS’ DISCO

Does anyone have a contact for a DJ for our Y6 disco at the end of term? Please let the office know if you do. Thanks.

DON’T PARK ON DOUBLE YELLOW LINES

A parent of a child in Y3 parked very inconsiderately this morning blocking Knoll Drive and preventing staff and neighbours driving up or down the road. When a member of staff pointed out that he shouldn’t be parking on double yellow lines, he made a very rude hand gesture to her. This could have been seen by children and certainly does not set a good example for our school. We expect our children’s behaviour to be exemplary in and outside of school and they never let us down. I am shocked that one of our parents would behave so badly.

AFTER SCHOOL/BREAKFAST CLUB THIS WEEK

As Mrs Costas is in the Isle of Wight with 6D this week, please can ‘as and when’ parents pay in advance or on the day. All other payments need to be made on time, so that Mrs Costas does not need to chase up lots of late payers when she returns from the isle of Wight next week. Thank you for your help.

ZUMBA DANCE WORKOUT- Thursdays 7.00-8.00 p.m.

Get in shape for the summer and have some fun. Roulla is starting a Zumba class this Thursday evening. Use the car park entrance to enter school. For more information: text or call Roulla direct on 07546 745 368.

HISTORY WEEK

We were in the presence of greatness last week! Einstein popped in several times, we saw Elvis again and many other historical figures on Friday. Thank you so much for taking such an interest-the children’s costumes and their background knowledge about their historical figure was brilliant. We had a great week, learning lots of new things and understanding more about the history of Britain. Thanks again.

WELL DONE ANDREA AND GENETHLIOS

Two of our pupils, Andrea and Genethlios have raised £78 for the sick children at Great Ormond Street. They picked toys, clothes and books that they didn't need any more and organised a car boot sale (made their own posters etc) and sold them today early in the morning. They enjoyed the experience and all proceeds will go to the aid of the sick children. Well done to both of them.

DINNER MONEY FOR THIS HALF-TERM

If you wish to pay for the half-term the cost will be £70.95(33 days@ £2.15 per day). If your child is in 6D, please pay £60.20. (minus 5 days for the Isle of Wight trip). If you wish to pay weekly, please make sure we receive your payment, in advance, every Monday morning. We like to finish the school year with no monies owning so expect to be chased if you are behind with payments! Thank you.

SUMMER FAIR UPDATE

Dear All,

Only 5 days to go until the summer fair! Thank you so much to all parents and friends who have agreed to give up some time to man a stall, run the BBQ, and to help us set up and clear away. We really appreciate it as it means that we can run more stalls for the children (and grown ups) to enjoy. Thank you also to everyone who has brought things into the school for the fair.

The FOMS committee have a few more last minute pleas!

1. We still need some jars of sweets for our sweet tombola. If you are able to provide one we would really appreciate it. We are also planning a nearly new toys and games stall and a teddy/soft toy tombola: any donations for these are still very welcome! Please drop things off at reception.

2.  This Friday is a rainbow day: please bring a bottle of something (alcohol is very popular!) for our bottle tombola. The FOMS committee will be there to collect bottles so please bring them in for your child to save accidents. We also have a coffee morning on Friday after drop off to help us prepare things. Please drop by if you can (and thank you to the volunteers who came last Friday).

3.  Despite many people being so generous with their time, we could still do with some more pairs of hands to run the stalls. Please let us or your class FOMS rep know if you can help.

4. If you can provide a cold international food dish or a cake, we would still appreciate it. The food stall is always very popular!

And last but not least, please do join us this Saturday from 1-4pm. Early indications are that it's going to be a lovely sunny day and we're hoping that the fair will be enjoyed by all!

Thanks and best wishes,
The FOMS committee

CHOIR PERFORMANCE AT THE SUMMER FAIR-2.00 p.m.

The Key Stage 2 choir will be performing a few songs at the Summer Fair on Saturday. If your child is in the choir and able to come along, please ask them to meet Mrs Folan in the hall at 1.45 ready to perform at 2.00 p.m. We are hoping that the Key stage 1 choir will be able to join us, but I will let you know later in the week if that is possible.

Y6D TRIP TO THE ISLE OF WIGHT

Year 6D set off for the Isle of Wight yesterday morning and arrived safely late afternoon. They were down on the beach very speedily, enjoying the lovely weather and everything a good beach has to offer! They will be spending the day at Robin Hill Country Park today so I know they will have a fantastic time.

CLASS PHOTOGRAPHS ON MONDAY

Don’t forget that class photos are happening next Monday, so please make sure children have a Monkfrith sweatshirt or cardigan in school. Thanks.
