International Food Day in Year 2D!

Last Wednesday was International Food day in Year2! As part of our homework task we had to choose a country of our choice and produce a traditional dish, which we then bought in to school for all of our friends to try! We had such a feast, with dishes from all over the world. Ghana, Taiwan, Poland, Turkey and many, many more! Have a look at our multicultural dishes!

Multicultural Food Week

This week has been Multicultural food week in Year 2. We have been trying many different foods from 4 countries with popular food cuisines. Over the course of the week we have  tried French, Italian, Indian and Japanese Cuisines. We enjoyed using our senses to look at, smell, feel and of course, taste! Our culinary knowledge and vocabulary is growing bigger and bigger and we have developed an appreciation for the eating customs and traditions of other cultures. As part of our week it was important that we followed these eating traditions, so we enjoyed eating on the floor like a traditional Indian or Japanese Meal, wishing each other an Italian ‘Buon Appetitto’ before eating and even taking our shoes off to eat and slurping our soup just like authentic Japanese eaters!  Take a look!

Pirate Instructions

As part of our exciting pirate adventure, we have been making lots of exciting things! During our writing lessons we have been practising following,  reading and writing instructions. We have made pirate hats from newspaper, pirate medallions, pirate parrots, pirate puppets and a 3D sea scape. We are really proud of our final products and have written some great instructions to go with them! Have a look

Christmas nativity

2D took to the stage in our whole school Christmas Show. We dressed in full nativity theme and sang the Christmas Carol ‘Child in a manger born‘. We sang our hearts out and enjoyed every minute of being on stage.
